You can create different newsgroups, and provide different userids and passwords to different people so some people can use some newsgroups and others can use other newsgroups. You might want to do this in order to segregate your personal and business discussions for example. In fact, people who log in using the userid/password combination used for personal discussions won't even know of the existence of the business newsgroups. You would probably use a third userid/password combination to allow you and other appropriate people access to all the newsgroups you created.
